My new work, commercial, experimental, sometimes conceptual
New work and new frontiers
New work is part of our everyday commissions, though it is also a time to experiment with new techniques for future work. It’s a training ground for new ideas and also a test bed to explore ideas which challenges us to push ourselves beyond the safe ground, improving and self learning, there are times when the challenges we face in photography call upon the skill sets we have developed in experimenting and exploring techniques.
New photographic projects
New work nothing excites me more than new projects, that take me on a creative challenge. I usually escape my studio a few times a year to photograph other areas I do not normally work in, street photography is where I can observe and create candid portraits.
Pushing the boundaries a little further
Conceptual photography helps me develop my skills which may become commercial or lead to other things and finally there’s the continuing work in progress where certain images become favourites and I want to share.
Surreal and conceptual photography is challenging and pushes us in new direction both in creativity and improving our photographic and editing skills.
Product photography and creativity
The challenges of photography are the motivation of a photographer we move away from safe into areas where both clients and ourselves expect more from us pushing our ideas and flexing our creativity. Standing still isn’t an option but it also isn’t the only reason we need to continually train, a self investment, personal improvement. Product and advertising photography is an area where the concepts are brought to life, its a breeding ground for technical and creative innovation a place where our work is rarely seen in public yet still has place in our portfolios.
